This guide is a quick and useful read that hails from the early 20th century (copyright 1929) and is written by a noted astrologer of the time (Sepharial, aka Dr. Walter Gorn Old). Within, the reader will largely find some background on the validity of crystal gazing, the type crystal best used for the practice and the type of persons whom seering is most easily achieved, examples of different types of visions and consequent interpretations, difficulties the beginner seer might encounter, methodologies of practice, and finally a dictionary of astrological terms.As the book was written in a different age, portions of this book may be difficult for the modern reader to digest smoothly - some terms I found to be antiquated and in some cases obsolete. The Kindle version is fine though there are some words that did not scan or transfer well - these instances are rare and do not hamper the over-arching teaching of the book.
That said, it is a very quick read and the information is easy to understand and will allow for those interested in attempting crystal gazing to begin practice. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

I found How to Read the Crystal or, Crystal Seer to be an interesting read and enjoyed the explanations and clarifications regarding the reading of crystals and using them in viewing. My friend Jack's Burgess wrote a wonderful book about using Crystals for Healing.
This book is interesting, but it does not hold your attention. The way it was written makes it a boring and hard read. The facts are interesting. That's why I say the book is interesting. This is why I call it a hard read. It has good information in it.
It was ok. Have read better.
This 1922 publication lays out the parameters for successful crystal readings by seers. There is advice on the best types of crystal to use; how to maintain, use, and store crystals; a litany of symbolic interpretations; anecdotes; and definitions ranging from astrology to horoscopes to general terminology.
Recommend for those interested in the occult and occult history.
